How Safelists Work
A Safelist is a group of people who have agreed to add their name to the database of a website, so they can send out their business opportunity type ads to the other members of the Safelist program. Joining is free, although there are a number of upgrade options and paid advertising services. The system is designed to help people with little or no advertising budget to market their favourite affiliate program
List Email And Contact Email
When you sign up for a FREE Safelist account, you will need to register a contact email address and a list email address. The list email address is where you will receive all the messages from everyone else who is a member of the Safelist, whereas the contact email is used only by the Admin of the Safelists to keep you up to date with offers etc
As a general rule you will find that safelist messages sent to the contact emails of the members are alot more effective than messages sent to the list email. However you have to pay - usually a small fee - to send to the contact email, this is often how the Safelists make money. Safelist Success Formula
The best strategy to use with Safelists is to send out your ad to as many Safelist Members as possible. If you can get into a routine of posting your ad to a good number of Safelists every day then you can get good results. For example I often send out to 100 or so every day - that all ads up to a huge number of actual ads and can be effective in the longer term - although immediate results should definately not be expected. Like all advertising online, persistence and determination is required. Most people post a few ads and then give up - its by carrying on posting the right kind of ads that are proven to get a response, that you will be successful
Using Reverse Marketing with Safelists
Another very effective strategy is to take over or "adopt" an existing safelist - say with 2,000 members or more. You can send out to all the contact emails every day for free as the Safelist owner. If you list the Safelist with the various submitter programs you will also get alot of new members every day. You can also send out ads about your Safelist to other Safelists, and therefore get more members and build your list to a really big membership. Although many people dont read the messages they receive from the Safelist, they do look at text ads and banners that you may have posted to the members area of the Safelist. As the owner of the Safelist you can also have a "sponsored ad" at the top of every message - you could put your own ad here or sell the advertising space to others. If you have your own ad as the sponsored ad, then obviously everytime people send out email ads, your ad will appear first. This can be a very effective way of making the Safelist work for you
