- Produce Your Website
This doesn't mean you have to be a great graphics designer or HTML programmer!! - if it did I wouldn't have much chance!!
Remember the most important thing about your website is the CONTENT - not the images or the formatting. Obviously it needs to look good and well put together, but some simple tips will put your in the right direction
- Submit Your Site To The Search Engines
This means going to the top Search Engines like Google/ Yahoo/ MSN and filling in a simple submission form - i.e. manually submit your site
You then need to keep checking to make sure your site has been listed, and then you need to work on other marketing techniques to make sure your site starts moving up the rankings so that eventually you get into the Top 10 for your main keywords
- Build Your List
Your email list gives another way of getting people to come to your site
Many people will forget how to find your site, and probably wont be able to find it again
So if you are in contact with them via email, this is a memory jogger to come back and visit your site again
- Build Your Traffic
The easiest way to build traffic to your site quickly and easily is to use articles. There are lots of FREE articles sites which allow you to write artcles and place a link to your own site at the end of the article. Lots of other webmasters and ezine publishers will use your articles and as the link to your site must remain intact, you are certain of lots of fresh targeted visitors to your site
Building an email list will also bring extra traffic to your site especially if you host your newsletters, articles, emails etc on your own site. Everytime people get an email from you they will visit you site, and this will provide you with extra traffic. By hosting the emails, newsletters on your own site, you can also add Google Adsense ads and also gain extra revenue for your site from pay per click advertisers
- Turn Your Visitors Into Buyers
The most important aspect of traffic is that instead of trying to get masses and masses of traffic, you must "convert" the traffic that you do generate, into buying customers - or at least get some response from your visitors. Whether thats a click on an advert, or an entry in a guest book or filling out a lead capture form, or leaving a question to be answered later etc, you must always concentrate on getting a response from your visitors
This is known as "conversion" and is the single most important thing to concentrate on with your website
Always remember people wont buy from you on the first visit. but if they like your site and get used to your content, and find things of value, then it will only be a matter of time before they come back and buy something from you
